About me

Researcher, educator and app developer based in Doha, Qatar.

Hello

I’m Mohamad Hassan Fadi Hijab, a laboratory manager and researcher at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in Doha, Qatar. My research is in human-computer interaction, especially how technology can support autistic people. I co-design tools with autistic children and adults, from collaborative play toys to MAAN, an accessible messaging app that won a MADA Innovation Program grant.

I studied both mathematics and computer science, and I bring them together in my work. I’ve taught mathematics since 2016, co-authored the HIJAB Mathematics school textbooks, published research in applied mathematics, and wrote Introduction to Programming Using Python for beginners. I’ve also taught programming, statistics and ICT accessibility at university level.

I’ve built mobile apps for more than five years, mostly with Flutter and Firebase, and published 12 apps on Google Play and the App Store.
